Chevy Cleans Up During Award Season

This year’s crop of Chevys are in a class of their own. Of all the cars and trucks cruising the streets of Michigan, Chevrolet stands out for quality and value. That isn’t just our opinion, of course. Chevy vehicles have been winning awards all year, and we’re keeping up steam moving into 2016.

The Chevy Malibu is a star example. J.D. Power awarded the elegant Malibu “Most Dependable Midsize Car”. Our cars had the lowest rate of problems of any in their class throughout the J.D. Powers survey. It’s easy to see why. The Malibu features an EcoTec 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine with Direct Injection and Intake Valve Lift Control to provide environmentally friendly power. The EPA estimates its fuel efficiency at 36 MPG on the highway. With the innovative start/stop technology as a standard feature, the Malibu stays on the road longer between fill-ups.

J.D. Powers also gave the Malibu “Highest Ranked Midsized Car In Initial Quality”, in part because of its safety-focused entertainment suite. Drivers can access Pandora Internet Radio using voice commands or turn on SirusXM Satellite radio for uninterrupted music. Passengers can connect up to seven devices to the OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, available on all new Malibus. The hands-free technology helped win a Five Star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If trucks are more your style, take a look at the Silverado. J.D. Power hailed the 2015 Silverado 1500 as the “Highest Ranked Large Light Duty Pickup In Initial Quality”. Built on a frame of high strength roll-formed steel, the Silverado is a powerhouse capable of towing up to 12,000 pounds. Technology is woven throughout the truck, from the StabiliTrak that makes towing a breeze to the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot keeping you connected. Best of all, the Silverado is quality that lasts. Kiplinger’s named the Chevy Silverado “Best in Class New Car Values- Full-Size Trucks”, and Chevy has the lowest cost of ownership of any truck brand.

Because Heidebreicht values the safety of our drivers, we’re very proud that our 2015 Equinox was a Top Safety Pick for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Technology integrated in every system makes it one of the safest cars on the road. A system of cameras and sensors power Forward Collision Alert system that detects unexpected obstacles, a rear-facing camera with a seven inch color display, and Side Blind Zone Alert to see where you can’t. The Equinox continued the overall trend of excellence by scooping up the J.D. Power “Highest Ranked Compact SUV in Initial Quality in a Tie”.

Chevy isn’t lacking when it comes to style, either. Our 2015 Corvette was recognized by Kelley Blue Book as the “Best Buy (Performance Car)”. Kelley acknowledged the Corvette’s craftsmanship by awarding it “Best Resale Value”. Most telling, Edmunds.com named it a “Most Popular Midrange Sports Car”. The Corvette Stingray is a favorite with drivers, who prize its sculpted exterior, ultra-light frame, cutting-edge communication technology, and the powerful 6.2L LT1 V8 engine.

The 2015 Colorado, our workhorse with a 3.6L V6 engine, won MotorTrend Magazine’s “Truck of the Year” award. That’s some high praise- but we weren’t surprised. The Colorado combines superior horsepower, modern conveniences, and fuel-economy to make a truck that’s both tough and smart- a lot like our drivers. These are just a few of the awards won by Chevy and GM trucks this year. If you’re near Macomb County, the staff at Heidebreicht can show you a complete list of accolades and answer any questions you have. Come test drive your award-winning Chevy today!
