The Camaro: Fun & Function Combined

Chevrolet Camaro InteriorTechnology is always pushing boundaries to create something new. Sometimes these inventions are meant to make our lives easier or safer. Other times they are just plain fun. Every now and then, technology gives us something that does both. The infotainment and communications technology suite Chevy installed in the Camaro SS is one of these inspired feats of engineering.

There are a ton of things the Camaro can do. The OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot will connect up to seven devices without damaging internet speeds. That’s seven people who can be checking their mail while you drive home from a work retreat. The hotspot works whenever the engine is on, so there is zero worry about it running out of battery.

The Camaro SS boasts an 8 inch touchscreen display which is used to access the MyLink system and, through it, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. These apps let you control your phone using voice commands. Load playlists from your music library, open apps like Pandora or 8 Tracks, and even get directions without taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road. If you’re an Apple user, Siri will read you texts over your vehicle’s speaker system and even take dictation for replies.

The feature that seems to excite the most people is arguably the simplest. This Camaro SS is outfitted with an inductive wireless charging mat for your smartphone. Inductive charging generates an electromagnetic field and uses it to transfer energy- namely into your phone. You can just set it on the centrally-located mat and drive, no plugs or cords needed.

Are you interested? Do you want to play with these features yourself? Drop by Heidebreicht Chevrolet in Macomb County and see for yourself!

Handle Your Trade-In Like A Pro

Trade In Vehicle

So much is involved in buying a new car: deciding on a dealership, researching models, assessing your budget, making a list of feature “needs” and “wants”. You’ve given this purchase a lot of thought. What you might have forgotten is planning what to do with your current car. It doesn’t meet your needs anymore, but it’s still an asset. At Heidebreicht Chevrolet on Van Dyke Road, we want to help you use that asset to your advantage. Follow these simple steps to make sure you get the most out of your trade-in.

Think About Timing

A convertible won’t sell very well in the middle of an icy Michigan winter. Dealerships usually inspect trade-ins for sale them on their pre-owned lots. If you bring them something they can’t easily sell or that they may have to store, they will have to offer you a lower price to balance that risk. Try to time your trade-in so you bring the dealer something they can sell quickly and you will be in a better bargaining position.

Do Your Research

Use sites like Kelley Blue Book, Auto Trader, or Edmunds.com to find out the estimated value of your car. You may also want to look on eBay for cars in similar conditions to yours to see how that affects the price. Don’t be afraid to bring these numbers to the dealership. A good salesman will have the same information, and have a realistic idea of your car’s value will speed up the bargaining process.

Presentation Is Key

Every bit of work the dealership has to put into getting your car sale-ready is money they take off your trade-in offer. Take your car to a reputable car wash before you bring it to trade in. If there are any lingering smoke, work, or pet odors, consider having it detailed to get the smell out. Vacuum the floors, seats, and trunk. Take all your personal belongings out in advance so the dealer can clearly see what they’re getting.

Prove The Car’s Reliability

Bring your service records when you make the trade-in. Having proof that you’ve maintained your car thoughtfully lets the sales staff give whoever buys your car some peace of mind. Even if your car has some small problems, knowing what they are can help the dealer establish a fair price. Don’t worry about paying for any major repairs before trade-in. It’s unlikely you’ll recoup the cost in the sale since the dealer can usually do the repairs for less than you can.

Avoid “Parachuting The Trade”

Parachuting the trade” means to hide the fact that you have a trade-in until after the initial deal is closed. Many online sites recommend that drivers do this to avoid somehow being tricked into paying too much for your new car, but in reality, it works against you. For one thing, you should be working with a dealership with an honest reputation you can trust, not a shady lot where the sales staff is out to get your money. Regardless of when you mention your trade-in, it will still have the same value to the dealership. The best solution is to work out your trade-in first before you deal for the new car. That way you know what the best offer is before you spend the time negotiating you new car’s price.

Our expertise is your advantage. We will always treat you fairly and ethically when trading in your vehicle. To talk about trade-ins or see our selection of new and pre-owned vehicles, visit our Washington showroom today!

Ride In Style With Chevrolet

Ride In Style

Whether it’s for work or play, Americans are on the road an average of 13,476 miles a year. That’s 37 miles per day. You put in some serious time behind the wheel, so it is no surprise that you’re interested in interior features and technology. Sometimes style is as important as reliability. After all, you want to enjoy driving your car as much as other people enjoy looking at it. The next time you visit Heidebreicht for a new Chevrolet, ask about these features that will turn your car into your own personal oasis.

It seems obvious, but the first thing you notice about the inside of a car is the way it feels when you sit inside it. Often people know within the first few minutes of a test drive whether they like a car or not, and three out of five times that is based on the driver’s seat. Chevrolet has ergonomically designed chairs shaped to make riding a pleasure. Discerning drivers have the option to add a front bucket seat with a specially-placed “driver power” lumbar support system. You should choose heated and ventilated seats, especially here in Michigan where our weather can get extreme. Few things feel nicer on a snowy Michigan day than sinking into a toasty driver’s seat. Many of our pre-owned cars and trucks have this feature, so don’t worry about breaking the bank.

Give a little consideration to choosing a higher trim level, too. Our base materials are always excellent quality, but there are so many upgrade options available to truly personalize your car or truck. Why not treat yourself to some higher end interior touches? Wood-grain console and door accents are a great way to help your Impala stand out, and these come with most of the upper trims. Leather upholstery is another enhancement which is well worth the investment. Our high-quality upholstery leather is cooler and more comfortable than cloth. It gives your Chevrolet a luxurious feel. Alternately, you could upgrade the touch screen for your MyLink system to a generous seven inches.

These days, listening to broadcast radio in the car is a hassle. Every time the station fades you have to search for a new one, and that can be a dangerous distraction for a driver. Rather than deal with that frustration, we bring our music with us, stored right on our phones for easy access. Now you can stream your music from your car speakers. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, your phone connects to the car to let you control the apps from your in-dash infotainment system screen. Listen to your own music or stream favorite playlists from Pandora and Spotify. Serious music lovers should consider adding the Bose premium 7 speaker surround sound system. It lets passengers cocoon themselves in crystal-clear sound from any seat in the car.

Music isn’t the only feature of your MyLink. Chevrolet MyLink is one of the most intuitive infotainment systems on the market, able to interface with nearly every modern cell phone on the market to help drivers focus on the road, not their phones. Apple users have the edge here; they can access Siri Eyes Free through the MyLink system. Siri Eyes Free can read off and answer texts, switch playlists, and more in response to the driver’s naturally spoken commands.

At Heidebreicht in Washington, Michigan, we have the interior features and upgrades you are looking for this year. You already trust us for exacting service standards and technical expertise; now trust us with your comfort. Drop by our location on Van Dyke Road today and get to know what Chevrolet has to offer!

Heidebreicht: Service You Can Trust

service you can trust

At Heidebreicht, we’re grateful to be ranked among Michigan’s best dealers. We know you have a lot of options when it comes to car dealerships, and we work hard to earn your business. To that end, here are the top five reasons you should be shopping at Heidebreicht.

Diverse Inventory

Your time is important. A dealership with a limited selection of vehicles is much less likely to meet your needs. We maintain a broad inventory of new and used Chevrolet models with a variety of options so you can find exactly the right fit. There are even a few trade-ins on our lot. If by chance we do not have the vehicle you were looking for, we go to great lengths to locate one in our network of trusted partners. We will even bring a vehicle to you if you can’t make it to the lot!

Reliable Financing

It’s important to us that you get a car that fits your lifestyle AND your budget. Our website features a handy Car Payment Estimator to help you decide how much car you need. Once you’re ready to buy, our knowledgeable sales staff can walk you through the financing process and explain any confusing issues. Worried about your trade-in? Our trade-in valuations are some of the best around. Not sure what GAP care is or whether you need it? We can walk you through the pros and cons. Also, we offer free loaner cars to our Chevy Family members when having warranty-covered repairs.

Heidebreicht Collision Center

Getting into an auto accident can really shake you up. Even if no one is hurt, there’s the hassle of dealing with police reports and insurance. Don’t let worries over the quality of your collision repair be another thing on your “stress list”. We come highly recommended by all the major insurance companies, and because we accept all insurances we know how to work with them to get you back on the road. If your vehicle needs a little body work (or a lot!), you can rely on the craftsmanship of our body shop techs to have it good as new in no time.

GM Certified technicians

The service staff at Heidebreicht is certified on all GM makes and models. We use quality parts to make sure what we fix stays fixed. When you bring your vehicle in for repairs or even for preventative maintenance, we’re happy to offer you a courtesy shuttle back to work or home. If you prefer to wait, our service lounge has a TV, Wi-Fi, children’s play area, snacks, and fresh hot coffee. Our fleet of 26 loaner vehicles ensures you can go on with your life while your vehicle is in our shop.

New Owner’s Clinic

Automotive technology is getting pretty advanced. Sometimes you don’t realize you aren’t sure how to work a feature on your new Chevy until you drive it home. That’s why Heidebreicht offers free monthly New Owner’s Clinics to answer any questions our Chevy family might have. We cover topics like how to work the OnStar and navigation system, getting the most out of your safety features, and how to pair your Bluetooth devices. Our staff does a useful demo of the Chevrolet Mobile Apps and the MyLink system, including set-up. All our Chevy clients who attend these New Owner Clinics are treated to free snacks and a special “thank you” gift.

You don’t have to take our word for it, though. Stop by our showroom on Van Dyke Road and see why we are Michigan’s premier Chevy dealer!

Heidebreicht Sponsors Youth Baseball

youth baseball

Supporting local children’s sports teams is a Heidebreicht tradition. Every year we team up with a baseball organization in Romeo, which is just up Van Dyke Road from our showroom. This year we chose the Washington Area Athletic Association as our organization and Washington Baseball as our league.

Washington Baseball has been running recreational leagues for kids in this area since 1962. Around seven hundred kids play in the league every year, all supervised by an active group of volunteer coaches, umpires, and even Board members. These volunteers are dedicated to making sure kids from all around this area play and challenge themselves to improve. They organize games, annual Coaches Clinics, provide fields, and so much more to make sure the children are having a good time.

No one involved in Washington Baseball gets paid for it, but there are still costs involved in running an athletic league. That is where sponsors come in. Sponsoring a league lets us provide our players with equipment, shirts, money, and unique experiences they wouldn’t otherwise be able to have.

Last year, for example, we were able to bring a group of our player to a Detroit Tigers game. They were even invited onto the field for recognition. Another time we helped with a Baseball Clinic held at Comerica Park, where the players learned effective ways to practice their skills in a fun setting.

Sponsoring teams isn’t about advertising Heidebreicht; it’s about service. The real reward comes from building civic pride and community among our youth. The league also gives parents and kids opportunities to spend quality time together. It’s an investment in our future.

Help us invest in Michigan’s future. Get out to the ballpark and cheer on our little leaguers!

Build A Career At Heidebreicht

Build A Career At Heidebreicht

It takes a lot of people to run Heidebreicht Chevrolet. We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to add to our team. As a locally-owned business, we prefer to hire from among our local community right here in Washington, MI. Are you interested in joining the Heidebreicht family?

A good mechanic can always find a place with us. We take pride in experience and skill, both of which help us serve customers better. We’d also like to see previous work with GM vehicles, Michigan Department of State certifications, and a clean driving record. For more information or to ask which specific certifications are required or what skillsets we’re currently looking for, please contact our Service Department at (586) 331-2531.

We love to see experienced auto sales staff apply, though we can train an enthusiastic candidate who has another form of sales experience. Attitude and work ethic are important. The most critical characteristic for our salespeople is honesty. Sales staff are the face of our business, and we need them to treat our customers fairly and ethically. If you like talking to people and helping them find the right Chevy for their needs, you could be a good fit at Heidebreicht!

It takes more than salesmen and mechanics to run a car dealership, of course. Cashiers ring up repairs and merchandise from our waiting area. Managers keep track of vehicle inventory or parts for the garage. Clerks work on warranty paperwork. There are even receptionists needed to watch the desk while the sales staff is out on the lot. The only constant is that applicants should be reliable, community-minded and willing to bring a positive friendly attitude to work.

If you are curious about finding a job at Heidebreicht, follow this link to download our employment application. Print it off, fill it out, and bring it to our location on Van Dyke Road. We’ll help you find your perfect career at Heidebreicht!

The New & Improved Chevrolet Volt

chevrolet volt

In the world of hybrid cars, there is no room for complacency. Take the award-winning Chevrolet Volt, for example. It was released rather recently- just at the end of 2010- but hybrid technology advances at an incredibly fast pace. New features are available every year: better batteries, lighter frames, improved peripheral features. With this in mind, GM undertook a serious overhaul of the plug-in hybrid for 2016. The change is incredible. This year’s model, built largely in Michigan, has a wholly redesigned powertrain, fine-tuned controls, and an interior that creates a sophisticated driving experience.

The first generation Volt, released in late 2010, won high praise for its innovative technology. Experts say it revitalized the electric car market. Drivers realized that electric didn’t have to mean bizarre chunky silhouettes and sluggish performance. The first Volt was a practical car for real drivers- which wasn’t something that could be said for earlier electric vehicles.

The new Volt is poised to shake up the market all over again. The main cause for this excitement is the Volt’s extended range and efficiency. It has an EPA estimated electric range of a staggering 53 miles, and if you’re limited to city driving it will provide a 57-mile range. That’s double the range of similar plug-in hybrids.

How is this efficiency achieved? Much of the credit goes to the Volt’s ultramodern drive unit. The transaxle is a hundred pounds lighter without sacrificing horsepower. In fact, torque is actually improved. GM did this by ditching the old arrangement, where a heavy 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine was paired with a large and a small generator. Now the Volt relies on a lighter 1.5-liter aluminum block engine teamed with two smaller generators. These work together where the older system relied primarily on the larger generator. Working in tandem allows them to produce more power from smaller engines, dropping the Volt’s 0-30 acceleration time from 3.2 seconds to 2.6.

Driving the 2016 Volt feels refreshingly modern. Chevy’s knowledge of how their clients actually use their cars is shown here. They’ve increased the driver’s ability to control how the power is being generated with four specially tailored driving modes. There’s even a “hold” toggle that forces the engine to switch to gas. These settings are now accessed via the steering wheel instead of the shifter, where they were in the previous model. Canny drivers can use the max regen paddle to slow the Volt without wasting energy applying the friction brakes. The cabin is quiet even during the very smooth switch from electric to gas. Only when the Volt is pushed by race-track maneuvers or a steep hill is the engine noise noticeable.

The Volt’s interior should please drivers who want to be environmentally responsible while still being comfortable. Reviewers report excellent back support, a wide field of view, and attractive furnishings. There’s something graceful about the way the central screen is mounted into the dashboard. One handy improvement is the small screen below the speedometer that echoes the navigation system. Drivers won’t have to look away from the road to follow instructions anymore. The Volt can also take advantage of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to link itself to its driver’s smartphone.

Are you excited by all the new technology built into the 2016 Chevy Volt? Visit Heidebreicht Chevrolet on Van Dyke Road in Washington to see them for yourself. Even if you’ve never driven an electric car before, our knowledgeable sales staff can teach you everything you need to know in the space of a test drive. Drop by our showroom today!
