In the third quarter of 2014, the 2015 Corvette production will begin with a new system integrated by Cosworth, a British motosports engineering company that supplies the Corvette raching Team with data and electronics. This is an industry first!
This system will allow the user to record high definition video of their driving experiences on and off the track. How cool is that?! The Performance Data Recorder combines the ability to record and share drive videos with the power of a professional-level motosports telemetry system,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. ” Drivers can easily record and share their experiences driving dow the Taol of the Dragon or lapping Road Atlanta. In addition, with the included telemetry software, users can analyze their laps in incredible detail and find opportunities to improve their driving and lap times.”
Three components are included with the PDR system, a 720p HD camara, a self-contained telmetry recorder, and and SD card slot for recording and transfering data. This is quite impressive if you ask us.
The new Corvette has an 8-inch Color touchschreen, so when the car is placed in pared, the video can be watched right from the drivers seat! You can also upload the videos to your computer or social media sites. Share it with your friends and family!
Pricing has not yet been released, but we will update you when we found out more information. Check out www.cosworth.com for more information on the PDR system or Chevrolet.com for complete details.
We are looking forward to the 2015 Corvette and this new system that comes with it, now, we can all get faster lap times! Until then, keep it on the road…
