Understanding Your 2024 Chevy’s Warranty

Your Chevy warranty provides you with the high standards of service and excellence that you expect from Chevrolet. When you buy a Chevy, you automatically receive several warranties that protect you against the very unlikely event of a manufacturing or labor-related defect. As your Chevy dealership, we’d like to take you through the important points of these warranties.

Five Warranties

Chevy’s 2024 warranty has not one but five warranties to provide you with the most comprehensive protection available. We’re now going to take a closer look at what you get when you take possession of your new Chevy.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

This warranty covers nearly every component against any problem or defect. It’s valid for three years/36,000 miles, whichever happens first. The warranty also covers your tires, which aren’t covered by most other manufacturer’s warranties. It also includes free towing to your closest dealership.

Some components aren’t covered by this warranty, including regular maintenance, misuse, or accidental damage.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

The powertrain warranty covers any issues with your engine, transmission, or drivetrain. Some of the many components protected by this warranty include the turbocharger, cylinders, and internal electrical components. It applies for the first five years/60,000 miles.

Some components like the sensors, coolant, radiator, and other cooling system components aren’t included in this warranty.

Rust-Through Protection

Rust can quickly make most metals look like Swiss cheese. Your Chevy is built from advanced materials and further protected by specialized paint. In the very unlikely event of rust-through, that is rust that penetrates the metal from one side to the other, the damage will be repaired for free. This specialized protection applies for six years/100,000 miles.

Corrosion Protection

Rust and corrosion are very different, as rust occurs only on metals that contain a percentage of iron. Corrosion can occur on a variety of substances, including metals that can’t rust, wood, and other materials. Once it starts, it can rapidly dissolve a substance. This warranty provides complete protection against any corrosion due to any issue with manufacturing or assembly for three years/36,000 miles.

Emissions Warranty

Emissions are the dangerous byproducts released by the combustion process. These include toxic chemicals like hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide. Your Chevy has an emission system that uses heat, extreme pressure, and chemical reactions to convert these chemicals. All the emissions system components, including the catalytic converter, are protected by this warranty. Its duration varies depending on your Chevy model.

Hybrid/Electric Component Warranty

If you have a hybrid/electric vehicle, it contains many unique components that aren’t found on gas or diesel engines. These high-specialized components are covered for the first eight years/100,000.
