4 Fun Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Washington Township, MI

It’s spring again in Michigan, and we’re loving the sunny days when they happen. It has us looking at the fun spring activities we can participate in around Washington Township, MI. Fortunately, there are quite a few local events we’re looking forward to right now. Here are our top picks.

1. Michigan Peach Queen of Romeo Pageant

Just six miles away in Romeo, MI they will be crowning the 2023 Peach Queen. This event is taking place at 269 E Washington St on Saturday, May 6th. The doors will open at 4:30 pm. The event is collecting non-perishable donations for the Romeo Samaritan House if you have a few things to share.

The event will begin with some kind words of advice from the 2022 pageant winner and runner-up. Then there will be a grand crowning event at 5:00 pm.

2. Romeo Mayfest 2023

The Romeo Lions Club and the Drive R&E Family Foundation are throwing a spring event. There will be plenty of vehicles to see, as well as food trucks, and live music. The outdoor stage will be active from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The food trucks will be open until 8:00 pm.

There will also be a vendor and craft market, 50/50 raffles, and a kid zone. The kid zone includes inflatable games, kid-friendly axe throwing, and bounce houses. Admission for this event is $5 a ticket with children 5 and under free. This event is located just six miles away at 269 E Washington St in Romeo.

3. Charcuterie Class

You can head to 65075 Van Dyke Rd on Saturday, May 6 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a charcuterie class for moms. This class will be hands-on and will teach you how to build expert meat and cheese boards. This class is meant for moms and possibly their adult children as a way to learn new skills and bond.

4. Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling Town Event

If you have boxes of paper and old electronics in need of recycling, the town is throwing an easy event for you. You’ll love how the keyless entry in your 2024 Chevrolet Trax Activ makes loading the car easy for this. Head on over to Township Hall at 57900 Van Dyke Ave with a maximum of four boxes for shredding. Make sure to bring your ID as only locals can take advantage.

This event is happening on May 13th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Township Hall parking lot. Note that commercial businesses are not allowed to participate in this spring cleaning event.
