There is plenty to do in Washington Township, MI throughout the year, but summer in the area is particularly fun. Kids are out of school, the weather is great, and there are lots of camps to enrich children’s lives. If you need a break from the routine your family has settled into, hop in your Chevrolet Suburban LT and check out one of these summer activities.
1. Check Out the Farm Market at Westview Orchards and Winery
If you are disappointed by the fruit at the grocery store, we strongly recommend going to Westview Orchards and Winery at 65075 Van Dyke Avenue. The Farm Market is open from 8 to 6 every day, and you can enjoy Farm Fun daily from 10 to 5.
We recommend checking in at Cider Barn and getting containers, so you and your family can pick your own flowers, fruits, and vegetables. However, you can also buy fresh fruit from the Farm Market.
2. Explore Stony Creek Metropark
We also strongly recommend checking out Stony Creek Metropark at 4300 Main Park Drive. This park offers something for everyone, including a stunning 500-acre lake beloved by swimmers, boaters, and anglers alike. This park also features 3,935 acres of soft and paved trails, woodlands, wetlands, tallgrass prairies, and other gorgeous scenery to explore.
If you want a little excitement in your day, we recommend flying down the 230-foot-long, 50-foot-tall Quadzilla slide. If you want to enrich your children’s education, the Nature Center is a great place to do that. It features live animals, hands-on experiences, exhibits, and more. We also recommend camping at Ridgewood Campground. This park offers so much to explore that you won’t be able to enjoy everything in a day.
3. Practice Your Swing at X-Golf Rochester Hills
We also can’t recommend enough practicing your swing at X-Golf Rochester Hills at 1134 S Rochester Road. Whether you’ve never golfed before or you just want to improve your par a bit, you can book 30- or 60-minute lessons from outstanding coaches.
You can also play on the best courses in the world without leaving Michigan thanks to the state-of-the-art simulators that provide unparalleled realism. If you’re not interested in coaching, you can get a feel for the game with a 45-minute session or spend a fun evening competing against your friends.
